on Website<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On January 1, 2013, California enacted a law (SB 658) that was intended to assist consumers by requiring funeral establishments to post their General Price List on their website. &nbsp;However, when one looks at the final language of the law, it appears that a funeral home can either post their General Price List on their website OR simply post a list of funeral goods and services with a statement that the General Price List is available upon request. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ed Howard, a lawyer at the Center for Public Interest Law at the University of San Diego School of Law, lobbied to get the law enacted after he and his sister struggled for days to get basic funeral price information over the phone or via the Internet when their father passed away. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When a funeral home chooses to make their General Price List price available on their website, they are making it possible for a person who has just experienced a loss to obtain the information they need to plan a funeral that is in line with their values and budget without having to make numerous phone calls and visits to funeral homes. &nbsp;This is of particular importance for home-bound elders and distant relations responsible for making funeral arrangements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have therefore reviewed the websites of all funeral homes in Orange County and have listed below, and provided a link, to those funeral homes that post their complete General Price List on their website (note: approximately 59% of funeral homes in Orange County have their General Price List posted):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex
